Your own domain + Gmail
Your own domain's mail next to Gmail — cPanel, Plesk or any hosting
Hosting companies give mail with the domain, but their webmail is often dated, and Gmail no longer collects it for you. Stjobno Mail reads any IMAP mailbox — and checks whether your letters reach the inbox.
Short answer: find your mailbox's IMAP and SMTP settings in cPanel or Plesk, add the address with its own password, then add Gmail with an app password.
Will your letters reach the inbox?
- Mail from your own domain lands in spam when the domain's records are missing or wrong.
- Stjobno Mail checks SPF, DKIM, DMARC, the server's reverse name and blacklists for each of your mailboxes, and says what to fix.
- The free check below does the same for any domain, without an account.
Step by step
- 1
Sign in to Stjobno Mail
With Google it is one press, and the account is free.
- 2
Look up the mailbox's server settings
cPanel: Email Accounts → Connect Devices. Plesk: Mail → the address → Mail client settings. Usually it is mail.yourdomain, with IMAP on port 993 and SMTP on port 465.
- 3
Add the address
Type the address and the mailbox's password. If the servers are not found by themselves, type the ones from step 2.
- 4
Add Gmail next to it
With an app password from your Google Account — the steps are below.
The passwords and servers, provider by provider
Your own domain: cPanel, Plesk or any hosting
- Find the mailbox's settings: cPanel → Email Accounts → Connect Devices, or Plesk → Mail → the address → Mail client settings.
- The user name is the full address; the password is the mailbox's own one — hosting mail usually has no app passwords.
- Type the address in Stjobno Mail: it looks for the servers itself, and you can always type them in.
Usually: incoming mail.yourdomain, IMAP, port 993, SSL; outgoing the same name, SMTP, port 465, SSL.
Gmail: an app password
- Turn on 2-Step Verification in your Google Account: myaccount.google.com → Security.
- Open myaccount.google.com/apppasswords, type a name such as "Stjobno Mail" and press Create.
- Copy the 16-letter password Google shows — it is shown once — and use it in Stjobno Mail instead of your Google password.
IMAP is always on in Gmail, there is nothing to switch on. A work or school Google account connects only if its administrator allows app passwords.
- Incoming (IMAP)
- imap.gmail.com:993 · SSL
- Outgoing (SMTP)
- smtp.gmail.com:465 · SSL
- Stjobno Mail fills these in by itself when you type the address.
Questions and answers
Which hostings work?
Any that gives IMAP and SMTP: cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, ISPmanager, FASTPANEL, Zoho Mail or a company's own server. A mailbox reachable only by POP does not work.
Is my mailbox's password safe here?
It is kept encrypted and used only to talk to your mail server over an encrypted connection. If your hosting gives separate passwords for apps, use one of those.
My letters go to spam. Can you help?
The check names what receivers find wrong — a missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC record, no reverse name, a blacklist — and what to add to your DNS.
Do I have to pay?
No. Reading, writing and sorting the mail of all your mailboxes is free, with no limit on the number of mailboxes. Only the optional AI functions are paid.
